What Happens if My Files and Certificate Are Deleted?

The preservation and secure storage of your files with a timestamp are entirely your responsibility. If your files are deleted, you lose the proof of your work’s digital record and its associated timestamp. Therefore, it is essential to back up your files to ensure their safety.


At My Art Proof, we prioritize user privacy and do not back up the content you upload in our databases. For this reason, once your timestamped file and certificate are emailed to you, we recommend storing these files on an external drive or a secure digital platform.


If you have lost your files, you can submit a new request to secure your work with a new timestamp. In this case, the loss of your old files does not invalidate your previous timestamp. However, you will need to obtain a new timestamp for the lost files, and the new timestamp will reflect the date it was issued, not the original date of the file.
